Heirloom 2018

A tea and sake shop.

Heirloom is an independently-owned coffee, tea, and sake shop located in the heart of Raleigh’s Art District. With the city’s central train station across the street, the shop provides a soft, warm welcome, and a harmonious refuge from the bustle of city living.

The detailing of all fixtures and built-ins were stripped down to the bare minimum. I was the architect of record on the build, and designed all custom elements in the space including the casework, benches, merchandise shelves, architectural trim, and bars. The crowning feature, the sculptural wooden armature, creates the tone and experience, while the merchandise, plants, and customers develop the fabric.
