A memorial garden for organ donors. Growing from the earth, each unique reed sings one note with the wind.

Commissioned by the largest organ procurement organization in North Carolina, I worked closely with the Donor Family services, the CEO, and CFO to conceptualize and develop a memorial sculpture for the more than 1,500 heroes that donate annually. Designed as an interactive garden, visitors are encouraged to walk through the installation, locating their loved one’s name on the undulating reeds, pausing to rest and reflect on integrated benches in the landscape.

This immersive installation is a celebration of the ephemeral and continuous exchange of energy and life.
